NCR announces new Neighborhood Specialist Michelle Chavez
Please join us in welcoming Michelle Chavez as a Neighborhood Support Specialist with the Neighborhood and Community Relations Department (NCR). Michelle will be replacing Lance Knuckles, who earlier this year moved from our neighborhood team to become NCR’s Access and Outreach Manager. Michelle has worked at the City of Minneapolis for fifteen years in various positions at the Health Department, Community Planning and Economic Development and Public Works. She has collaborated with neighborhoods, schools, non-profits and private sector businesses on several successful City initiatives. She was integral in the start of the STEP UP summer jobs program and most recently was the project lead on the City’s transition to one-sort recycling.
NCR also used this opportunity to review and make minor adjustments to our neighborhood assignments. Our goals were to maintain existing relationships with neighborhoods, better align our skills with the organizations we work with, and balance the work load among our neighborhood staff.
You can download a list of the new neighborhood assignments or visit http://www.minneapolismn.gov/ncr/programs/contact/index.htm.
