Little Earth of United Tribes
2501 Cedar Avenue South

The 212-unit Little Earth of United Tribes project was originally developed in 1973 under FHA 236 program. Because of ongoing financial and management problems, the project was eventually placed in receivership and reverted to HUD.
Stabilization of this project became a very high priority for the city. A new ownership entity, Little Earth of United Tribes Housing Corporation (LEUTHC), was created to own and operate the project. HUD was able to secure a new 15-year HAP contract for 100 percent of the units and was able to continue the Indian preference for tenant selection. LEUTHC acquired the project in 1995 and embarked on a five-phase rehabilitation program. Three phases have been completed using a variety of public and private funding sources, including significant private debt of $1.9 million.
