Dinkytown Historic District Designation Study
On February 4, 2014 the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission established interim protection for the Dinkytown Commercial District in Southeast Minneapolis and directed the planning director to prepare or cause to be prepared a designation study of the district. In this case, the designation study is being completed by CPED staff with assistance from a consultant.
The research for the designation study has been conducted, and the study is complete. The study was recommended for approval at the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) meeting on June 9, 2015. It was approved at the City Council meeting on July 10, 2015, with some revisions to the scope of the study, and some conditions on the subsequent design guidelines.
Design guidelines are now under development. More information will be provided here when available.
