Phasing & Timeline

Because of the volume of work involved and the geographic size of the station areas, rezoning work in the Hiawatha Corridor will occur in the following separate phases, each with its own approval process. The timelines/phasing are estimates.

1. Analysis and application of Pedestrian Oriented Overlay District in each of the neighborhood station areas. (Completed Jan. 2005)

2. Analysis and implementation of primary zoning district changes in each of the station areas (2005-2008)

a. Lake Street/Midtown (changes adopted, effective 10/15/05)

b. Franklin Avenue (changes adopted, effective 4/27/07)

c. 38th Street

d. 46th Street

e. 50th St./VA Medical Center (mid 2009)
