Historic Mills District Master Plan and Update
The Historic Mill District, located between Downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River, includes numerous historically significant structures and sites. The Historic Mills District Master Plan was published in June 1998 and was the product of a public participation planning process. The final Master Plan included an urban design plan and design guidelines for each block of the District and established design concepts to inform the redevelopment of the District. Early in 2000 the plan was updated by a task force including representatives from City, County and State agencies and other major stakeholders. The plan update, which is included on this web page, was released in 2001.
