The "Hi-Lake Community Advisory Committee" was convened by the City of Minneapolis to consider concepts for change at the Hi-Lake Shopping Center site. That site is part of larger areas covered by the Hiawatha/Lake (LRT) Station Area Master Plan (adopted by the City Council on May 18th, 2001) and the Hiawatha and Lake Redevelopment Project Area, which was approved by the City Council and MCDA Board of Commissioners on May 19, 2000.
The Committee developed these Guidelines over the course of approximately twenty meetings held between September 2000 and September 2001. The City and the MCDA thank the Committee members and their guests for their efforts leading to the publication of these Guidelines.

(1,843kb pdf document -- requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)
These Development Objectives were prepared to communicate the City's and the Minneapolis Community Development Agency's (MCDA's) objectives and priorities for the Hi-Lake Shopping Center area. Representatives of the MCDA and the City Planning Department, reflecting the work of the Hi-Lake Advisory Committee, prepared this Development Objectives document. The establishment of these Development Objectives will be an important step toward implementing the Hiawatha/Lake Station Area Master Plan.
The Minneapolis City Council adopted these objectives on December 28th, 2001. Questions may be directed to Paul Mogush, Principal Planner, at (612) 673-2074.
