City of Minneapolis Workforce Plans

The City of Minneapolis has used Workforce Plans for the past six years beginning with the Midtown Exchange project in 2004. Minneapolis workforce plans are focused around the central concept that public assistance given to a private business for economic development should result in an increased number of jobs in Minneapolis.

Workforce plans depend on voluntary partnerships between the City and business. We believe that this type of partnership often produces results that would not be possible under mandatory compliance programs. We also know from past workforce agreements that Minneapolis companies have a lot of knowledge and skills that they are willing to share with students and community based workforce providers. Full list of Minneapolis Workforce Plans and outcomes to date.
