City of Minneapolis B-TAP Professional Series

About B-TAP Professional Series
Facilitating Business Knowledge Exchange

B-TAP Professional Series, a component of the City of Minneapolis’ Business Technical Assistance Program (B-TAP), aims to respond quickly to opportunities to support small business growth. The goal is to sponsor a series of events in 2018 where local professional experts provide training or technical assistance on topics that help entrepreneurs--particularly those that have been underrepresented--take their businesses to the next level.

PROFESSIONAL SERIES GOALS

Why is the City creating this program?

We believe that our city has vast professional talent and creativity that can benefit our small business community. We want to tap into the innovative ideas of those professionals and respond to the needs of entrepreneurs. We want to provide more specialized assistance beyond that offered in the core B-TAP program to an expanded audience of businesses.

What’s going on in 2019?

In Spring 2019, B-TAP Professional Series selected five ideas to serve Minneapolis businesses. The 2019 series targets diverse business populations, offering free trainings, one-on-one coaching, workshops and networking opportunities. Below is the list of current opportunities, please check back as more will be added throughout the year.

  1. Planning for Profitability (PDF) - Facilitated by Main Street Alliance and Cue the Accountant (for Minneapolis restaurants)
  2. Try It! Workshops for Farmers Market Vendors (PDF) - Facilitated by Corcoran Neighborhood Organization (for entrepreneurs interested in becoming a farmers market vendor) (PDF)
  3. Creating Successful Social Enterprises for Nonprofits – facilitated by Propel Nonprofits (social enterprises)
  4. Business Skills for Entrepreneurial Artists – facilitated by Springboard for the Arts (entrepreneurial artists and businesses)
  5. Small Business Marketing Toolbox – facilitated by Patagonia Visual Solutions
