The Minnesota Wage Theft Law and the Minneapolis Wage Theft Ordinance work together to protect employers and employees. The ordinance was passed by City Council on August 8, 2019.

What is the ordinance?
To help prevent wage theft, the City has adopted part of the state's new Wage Theft Law into local ordinance. The ordinance requires employers to provide notice of benefits under the Sick and Safe Time Ordinance.
When does the ordinance take effect?
The Minneapolis Wage Theft Ordinance is effective January 1, 2020.
