Audit Committee Vacancy

The Audit Committee was created on 12/18/2009 by Ordinance 2009-Or-190. The Audit Committee shall be responsible for the oversight of the City’s internal audit function. The Audit Committee is also responsible for appointing and removing the Internal Auditor; review and approve the Internal Auditor’s annual audit plan; review the audit reports directed to it and make recommendations to the City council on the appropriate course of action on any such audit reports; monitor the Internal Auditor’s results; and review reports of the State Auditor prepared for any of the city’s departments, boards and commissions.

Deadline:  Application review process will begin Friday, October 5, 2018.


There is one (1) vacancy requiring Mayoral appointment, for a 3 year term beginning January 1, 2019, and ending December 31, 2021.

Note: seat may have incumbent seeking re-appointment.

Selection Process:

Applications are forwarded from the City Clerk to the Mayor and City Council for their consideration.

Relevant Ordinance Information:

The citizen members shall be appointed to a three-year term and no citizen member shall be appointed for more than two (2) terms. The three (3) citizen members shall be appointed as follows: one (1) by the mayor, one (1) by the city council through the open appointments process, and one (1) by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The audit committee shall meet a minimum of four (4) times per year.


The Audit Committee meets a minimum of four (4) times per year.
No citizen member shall be appointed for more than two (2) terms.
There is no Compensation.
The Commission meeting locations are accessible to persons who are disabled.
