Animal Care & Control Advisory Board Vacancies

The Minneapolis Animal Care & Control Advisory Board was created to assist the Animal Care & Control (MACC) with policy and community outreach activities.

Deadline: Open until filled. The application review process will begin Friday, April 19, 2019.


Seats 1 – 11: Appointed by Animal Care & Control staff; terms from 07/01/2019 – 06/30/2021; seats may have incumbents seeking re-appointment; applicants must be a representative of one of the following: local animal-related business owners, rescue organizations, non-profit organizations, veterinarians, urban farmers, animal-related media, and residents.

Members shall be residents of the City of Minneapolis or animal-related business owners and/or stakeholders and shall not hold a current election certificate.

The board has 11 total members appointed by Minneapolis Animal Care & Control.

Meetings take place quarterly on the second Monday of the month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at MACC or as agreed upon by the board. The Advisory Board may meet at additional times and places deemed necessary by its members or at the call of the Chairperson. Attendance: any member who has more than two unexcused absences per term will lose his/her seat on the board and be replaced. There is no compensation for members. The meeting locations will be accessible to persons with disabilities.
