Youth Violence Prevention Executive Committee Vacancies
The Youth Violence Prevention Executive Committee was created by Resolution 2008R-297 on July 25, 2008 to direct efforts to significantly reduce youth violence in Minneapolis by doing the following:
Oversee the general implementation of the Youth Violence Prevention Blueprint for Action;
Provide advice and recommendations on high level strategic and policy issues including the objectives and priorities of the Blueprint for Action;
Serve as a decision-making body on recommendations offered by Policy Committees and the Youth Violence Prevention Community Advisory Committee;
Review the need for and recommend the establishment of specialized work groups;
Develop strategic partnerships and leverage resources to achieve the goals of the Blueprint for Action; and
Promote and engage a cross section of community stakeholders in the implementation of the plan.
Deadline: Open until filled.
There are currently 17 seats coming to the end of their terms; new terms will beginning immediately, and end December 31, 2018.
Note: Vacancies may have incumbents seeking re-appointment.
All positions will be appointed by the Mayor with approval by the City Council. Applicants must be representatives from the following communities/sectors: Financial/Business, Health Care, Academic, Minneapolis Public Schools, Law Enforcement, Foundation Community, Faith Communities, Community Organizer, and Students.
