Purpose | The Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council (HMFC) was created by 2009R-283 and amended by Resolution 2011R-445, 09/02/2011. Homegrown Minneapolis is a citywide initiative expanding our community’s ability to grow, process, distribute, eat and compost more healthy, sustainable, locally grown foods. The HMFC is striving for diverse and balanced representation and will make every effort to ensure that the concerns represented and addressed reflect the diverse viewpoints and interests of the Minneapolis community as a whole. Appointment Process | 8 citizens appointed by Mayor and 7 citizens appointed by Council, using the City's open appointment process; and the remaining 6 members from the Mpls Dept of Health and Family Support, Community Planning and Economic Development, City Coordinator-Sustainability, a Mayor’s representative, and a Council member or Council member representative |
