Important Dates Referencing Property Taxes
January | January 2- Date when property values and classifications are established for assessment purposes. This value is used to determine property taxes that will be paid next year. |
February | Value Notices are mailed during the first quarter of each year. |
March | Property Tax Statements are mailed by the end of March. City of Minneapolis holds their Open Book meetings. |
April | If you want to appeal your property valuation to the City of Minneapolis Board of Appeal and Equalization, call for an appointment. April 30 th |
May | May 15 – The first ½ of the current year’s tax payment is due. If you want to appeal your property valuation to the Hennepin county Board of Appeal and Equalization, call for an appointment. Statements are mailed for manufactured homes. |
July | July 1 st |
August | August 31 st |
October | October 1 st October 15 - The second ½ of the current year’s taxes payment are due. |
November | Property Tax Statements or Truth-in-Taxation Statements are mailed.

December | Local government entities approve their final budgets. December 1 st December 15 th |
