The Cedar Lake Road bridge, which spans the BNSF rail line near Morgan Avenue South in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood, has reopened today.
Repairs to the timber support structure of the bridge are completed and the bridge is now open to pedestrians, bikes, and cars. The bridge had been closed since April 2023. It is a seven-span timber beam bridge that was built in 1941.
The City remains committed to the Cedar Lake Road bridge replacement project scheduled for 2027.
