Open Streets West Broadway will take place 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 on West Broadway between Penn and Lyndale. The street will temporarily close to car traffic to give people a chance to enjoy neighborhoods in a car-free environment.
Open Streets West Broadway will feature more than 200 places to explore. More than a street festival, Open Streets events allow neighbors to experience city streets as public spaces where communities thrive. Metro Transit is also offering free rides to the event.
Open Streets West Broadway is also seeking volunteers to help make the event a welcoming, exciting space. Volunteers receive an event T-shirt and free cookies courtesy of Cookie Cart. Sign up for a one-hour shift.
Following Open Streets West Broadway, the last event of the 2022 season is Open Streets Minnehaha on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Opens Streets Minneapolis is a City of Minneapolis initiative organized by Our Streets Minneapolis that gives local businesses, artists and community groups a chance to transform the streets into a place where people can gather and celebrate the diversity and creativity of the city while walking, biking and rolling.
