Open Streets Minnehaha set for Saturday, Oct. 1

September 29, 2022

Open Streets Minnehaha will take place 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 – the final Open Streets of the 2022 season.

Minnehaha Avenue from East Lake Street to East 46th Street will be closed to car traffic during the event to give people the chance to enjoy the street by walking, biking or rolling. There are more than 200 places to explore along Minnehaha for Open Streets.

Open Streets Minneapolis events help us experience streets as public spaces where communities thrive. City streets become vibrant, pedestrian-friendly boulevards where people can dream, play and explore. These events aim to fundamentally change how people think about their city streets.

Volunteers are needed to make the event a welcoming, exciting space. Volunteers receive an event T-shirt and free cookies courtesy of Cookie Cart. Sign up for a one-hour shift. Sign up to be a street ambassador.

At each Open Streets Minneapolis event, local businesses, artists and community groups transform their streets, showcasing the diversity, creativity and culture of Minneapolis.
