Minneapolis City offices closed June 20 for Juneteenth observance

Minneapolis City government offices, including Minneapolis 311 and the Minneapolis Service Center at 505 Fourth Ave. S., are closed Monday, June 20, in observance of the Sunday Juneteenth holiday. City offices resume regular business hours on Tuesday, June 21.

There are no holiday changes to City garbage and recycling pick-up schedules and there will be regular pickups June 20. However, the Solid Waste and recycling customer service office and information line is closed Monday, June 20.

The City's metered parking spaces are enforced June 20, but will not be Sunday, June 19. Other metered parking restrictions in Minneapolis may be in effect and subject to enforcement, including Park Board, University of Minnesota and private organizations that operate their own meters. Always read the information posted on the meter to be certain.

Minneapolis police and fire emergency services and 911 are not affected.

In recognition of the Juneteenth holiday, the Lowry Avenue Bridge will light up in red, black, green and gold, and the I-35W Bridge will be lit red, white and blue overnight June 19.
