Open Streets Franklin returns Sunday, July 10

Open Streets Franklin takes place 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 10 – the second Open Streets Minneapolis event of the 2022 season. It’s free and open to everyone.

Franklin Avenue from Portland Avenue to South 26th Avenue will be closed to motor vehicles and open for people to enjoy activities on the street in a car-free environment.

More than 200 local businesses, artists and organizations are participating in Open Streets Franklin, including an artisan market featuring over 50 local artists. Other highlights include the Franklin Library Family Area and the Seward Co-op 50th Anniversary Celebration. Restrooms and drinking water stations will be in place throughout the Open Streets area.

Future events include Open Streets East Lake Saturday, Aug. 13, Open Streets West Broadway Saturday, Sept. 10, and Open Streets Minnehaha Saturday, Oct. 1.

Opens Streets Minneapolis is a City of Minneapolis initiative organized by Our Streets Minneapolis that gives local businesses, artists and community groups a chance to transform the streets into a place where people can gather and celebrate the diversity and creativity of the city while walking, biking and rolling.
