At 15 years old, Mark DeLude lost his father, Minneapolis firefighter Barry DeLude, to complications from the flu. His father did not get the flu shot that year.

Mark, who is following in his father’s footsteps as a Minneapolis firefighter, will always have an emptiness in his heart as his father never saw him put on the uniform.
