City of Minneapolis celebrating Welcoming Week with events promoting inclusion for all communities

September 9, 2021

The City of Minneapolis is celebrating Welcoming Week Sept. 10-19 – an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to promoting inclusion for immigrants, refugees and all residents.

Since 2012, Welcoming Week has served as the annual campaign and celebration led by Welcoming America to showcase communities across the country striving to become more welcoming for all. This year’s theme for Welcoming Week is “Belonging Begins with Us,” a declaration that everyone has the power to help others feel seen, embraced and welcomed.
