On Thursday evening, May 6, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of the sound of shots fired in the area of the 1600 block of West Broadway around 5:50 pm.
While in route, the officers were advised that there was a male down on the ground outside and it appeared he had been shot.
Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported by ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, detectives from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began an investigation. Personnel from the Crime Lab were also present to document the scene and collect evidence.
The investigators were advised early on the morning of May 7 that the victim in this case died at the hospital.
The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
