We offer several paid trainee opportunities
Public Works Service Worker I Trainee
Compensation
- STEP 1: $17.479 hourly in the first six months
- STEP 2: $18.726 hourly after:
- Six months of on the job experience
- Successfully obtaining a CDL
Minimum qualifications
- 18 years of age by application deadline
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Own and maintain a valid Class D driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment (We'll help you get your CDL)
Details
- Performs manual labor
- Learns to drive and operate equipment
- Supports the department's construction and maintenance activities
- We'll support you in obtaining your CDL Class B License
Length of program
- 12 Months
Hours
- 40 hours per week
Water Distribution Operator Trainee
Compensation
- $19.069
Minimum qualifications
- 18 years of age by application deadline
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Own and maintain a valid Class D driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a Class D Water License (We will support you with this)
Details
- Performs manual labor and semi skilled work
- Learns how to maintain the City's Water Distribution System
Length of program
- 12 - 18 Months
Hours
- 40 hours per week
Auto Mechanic Trainee
Compensation
- STEP 1: $17.73 (Year One)
- STEP 2: $20.68 (Year Two)
- STEP 2: $26.59 (Year Three)
Minimum qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- High School diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older by program start date
- Ability to Obtain a CDL Class B License with no air brakes restrictions within one year of hire
