Council committees

The City Council uses a committee system to consider legislative policy. Each committee handles a specific area of City policy. Committees recommend actions to City Council for final approval.

Each committee oversees a specific area of City policy. This includes all departments and divisions in that area. The committee considers agenda items and makes a recommendation to the full Council.

A Council cycle is a two-week period when all committees meet. The cycle ends with a regular City Council meeting.

Due to the local public health emergency, the City Council has restructured its organization.
