Plant at least 6,000 trees on public land annually by 2015.

Trend Analysis

In 2014, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board planted over 7,800 trees. Since 2006, the MPRB has planted an average of over 4,950 trees per year for a total of more than 44,550 trees along streets and in parks. There has still been a net loss of over 3,100 public trees in the city over the past eight years. In response, nearly 11,000 trees have been planted on private land since 2006 through the City Trees program.
