Trees Lost and Planted
Plant at least 6,000 trees on public land annually by 2015.
In 2013, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board planted over 5,200 trees. Since 2006, the MPRB has planted an average over 4,500 trees per year for a total of more than 36,700 trees along streets and in parks. There has still been a net loss of over 2,500 public trees in the city over the past eight years. In response, over 10,000 trees have been planted on private land since 2006 through the City Trees program.
