Apply for one of four open seats on the Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council!

Applications for four vacant seats will be accepted now through October 19th. Appointed members will serve the remainder of terms that began January 1st, 2018 and will end December 31st, 2019.

What is the Food Council?

The Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council is a City advisory group that convenes and engages diverse stakeholders to identify and propose innovative solutions to improve the local food system.

What does the Food Council do?

  • Engage in lively monthly meetings. Meetings are held in the early evening at various locations throughout Minneapolis.
  • Contribute to working groups and task forces that address current food system issues. Current groups include Healthy and Inclusive Food Access, Healthy Food and Waste, Homegrown Small Business Fund and Grant Pilot, Local Food Links - Purchasing and Procurement, Milan Urban Food Policy Pact Implementation, and Urban Agriculture.

When and how can I apply?

Apply now through October 19th, 2018. Minneapolis residents are encouraged to apply, although some exceptions are made for non-Minneapolis residents. Find the application online or contact the City Clerk’s office at 612-673-2216 for a copy of the application. Or download the application in Spanish, Somali, or Hmong.
