Minneapolis Climate Action Plan
Between 2012 and early 2013, Minneapolis Sustainability staff worked with partners in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, as well as the community at large, to update the Minneapolis Climate Action Plan. The final plan provides a roadmap to guide Minneapolis towards our greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
City staff worked with a Steering Committee and Technical Advisory Groups made up of technical experts and community representatives to develop a comprehensive set of emissions reduction strategies in three areas:
- Buildings and energy
- Transportation and land use
- Waste and recycling
An Environmental Justice working group met through the fall and early winter of 2012 to provide recommendations and feedback to the Steering Committee, which held its final meeting on April 8, 2013. The full Climate Action Plan, adopted by the Minneapolis City Council on June 28, 2013, is posted below in PDF format.
