Infectious Wastes | Do NOT place in the garbage cart. This item NOT collected by Solid Waste & Recycling or accepted at the South Transfer Station. Disposal with garbage is prohibited. | ||
Ink Jet Cartridges | Bag and place inside the garbage cart. Check for refill kits available at office supply stores or large retail stores (i.e. Target, Kmart, Wal-Mart). Post Offices in Hennepin County offer post paid envelopes for ink jet cartridge recycling. | ||
Insecticides, Pesticides, Weed Killer | Do NOT place in the garbage cart. This item NOT collected by Solid Waste & Recycling or accepted at the South Transfer Station. Disposal with garbage is prohibited. | ||
Insulation | Cellulose and fiberglass insulation is accepted at the South Transfer Station. Vouchers are available to customers of Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling, see Voucher Program for details. Small amounts of cellulose and/or fiberglass insulation can be bagged and placed inside the garbage cart. | ||
Irons | Bag and place inside the garbage cart with the exception of irons with an automatic shut-off. These irons contain mercury switches and are household hazardous waste. |
