About | Participate

You can improve the curb appeal of your neighborhood through the Adopt-A-Block program. Whether you’re working alone or as a group, it’s easy to make your block neat and tidy. Once you’ve completed an application, the City will provide yellow trash bags and gloves for your cleanup.

By participating in this program, you agree to:

  • Adopt the entire block (all four sides plus alleys when applicable) for a minimum of two years.
  • Hold at least four cleanups on the block each year.
  • Clean public sidewalks, curbs, and boulevard greenbelts corner-to-corner and down the alley. The cleanup should include picking up litter, removing weeds, clearing storm grates, etc.
  • Securely tie filled bags and place them in or next to your garbage cart for removal on your regular collection day. If you have City garbage service, the yellow bags will not count as excessive garbage.
