Why This Is Important

Adult and youth placement numbers are one of the clearest measures of the Minneapolis Employment and Training Program's (METP) performance and success. METP designs its adult program to provide Minneapolis residents with community-based one-on-one career counseling and job placement and retention services. The youth program is designed to expose Minneapolis youths to career and educational opportunities through summer employment at a variety of companies.

What's Being Done

The Minneapolis Employment and Training Program (METP) provides Minneapolis residents with community-based one-on-one career counseling and job placement and retention services. Its youth program exposes Minneapolis youths to career and educational opportunities through summer employment at a variety of companies.

Each year METP evaluates its programs to determine whether the programs are meeting the needs of Minneapolis residents, that the community-based nonprofits delivering many of the programs are successfully helping residents reach their career goals and that the numerical outcomes are consistent with beginning-of-the-year goals.

About This Measure

Adult and youth placement numbers are from the Minneapolis Employment and Training Program at CPED, which collects data from community-based nonprofits.

METP's adult program and youth program both receive a variety of funding including federal, state and local dollars. As part of the funding requirements, METP collects data from the community-based nonprofits and report these results on a quarterly basis. These numbers are summarized in the METP Quarterly Report as well as an end-of-the-year annual report.
