About Regulatory Services

The Regulatory Services Department is charged with the responsibility of protecting the health, safety and welfare of Minneapolis residents through a program of regulation, inspection, and enforcement of laws and ordinances. Our divisions include Animal Care & Control, Fire Inspections Services, Housing Inspections Services, and Traffic Control.

Livability - We believe that livability issues affect quality of life in Minneapolis and work to quickly address and resolve them.

Professionalism - We take pride in quality service and truthful, honest, and dependable actions. We are committed to proficiency, reliability, and excellence in all aspects of our conduct and performance. As a learning organization, our department values the expertise of its staff and prioritizes training. 

Customer Service - We prioritize customer service in our interactions with the public. We anticipate needs, respond quickly, and deliver customer-focused solutions. The goal of all staff is to make sure that customers are well-served.
