Project Description

The City provides employment and training services to low-income Minneapolis residents. The services are free to program eligible individuals and include career counseling, skills training in high demand/growth occupations, job placement assistance upon completion of training and services to help the individuals retain their job. ARRA funding will allow the city to serve approximately 200 low-income residents through this project. 9/17/10 Update to this description: We were able to provide training opportunities to 251 Minneapolis residents-slightly more than the original plan projected. The training projects have been completed and participants are now being assistend in their search for employment. As of 9/16, 45 clients have been placed into jobs.
