Safe, affordable housing is an essential foundation of any strong community, and development is a significant driver of an area's economy. With support from of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Minneapolis has been able to enhance its work in the areas of housing and development. The City's housing and development goals always have the best of urban living in mind-- transit oriented, sustainable, affordable, and accessible. Leveraging other public, private and nonprofit resources in all its economic development and housing priorities is a key part of Minneapolis' recovery strategy.
