Minneapolis Adopt-A-Drain Program

Notice to interested Storm Drain Adopters:

Now that winter is upon us, we are temporarily suspending accepting of new adopters to the Adopt-A-Drain Program.

Over the winter, we have been working hard to make improvements to the program, which will debut in Spring 2019. This includes a new interactive website that will not only allow adopters to choose the storm drains they want to adopt via an interactive map, but also submit information about what & how much was collected!

What do I do in the meantime if I see a storm drain that isn’t working properly?

If you notice a storm drain is not functioning properly, call 311 and a Minneapolis Sewer Maintenance crew will resolve the issue.

Remember, never put anything down a storm drain. It’s for rain and melting snow only.

Can you let me know when the new Minneapolis Adopt-A-Drain website is live?

If you would like to be contacted, please email [email protected] with your name and contact information, and we will be in touch.

We appreciate your interest in improving the waters of Minneapolis!
