Critical Parking Permits

Critical Parking Areas are residential on-street permit parking areas that are intended to provide relief to neighborhood residents from parked vehicles by persons who have no association with the residents or businesses in the neighborhood. Permits are only for licensed drivers who are residents and businesses at qualified addresses. Participation is optional. It is not necessary for residents or businesses to purchase a Critical Parking Permit if they do not plan to park on the street during restricted hours.

Applications are available online Critical Parking Permit Application . First-time applicants must apply in-person at the Minneapolis Development Review counter (250 S. 4th St, Room 300) or by mail to Hawthorne Transportation Center (33 N 9th St, Minneapolis 55403.).

Fees: $25.00 per year for new or renewal permit.

$10.00 per year for visitor or service permit

$2-$5.00 for temporary permits

Renewal notices are sent out by mail approximately one month prior to expiration.
