Retirement Award Policy
I. Eligibility
Retirement awards are presented to retiring employees who meet the established criteria. The 30 year award is a bronze Father of Waters statue, and the 25 year award is a Clock Tower Award..
Criteria for 25 year Award
-- Employees must have 25 years of actual service with the City of Minneapolis.
Criteria for 30 year Award
-- Employees retiring with a MERF pension must have 29 years plus 1 day of service.
-- Employees retiring with a PERA pension require 30 years of actual service with the City of Minneapolis.
II. Award Selection Forms
Request forms for awards can be obtained from Human Resources, Employee Services at 612/673-3342. Completed forms should be returned to same location. Employee Services will contact the department when the award is ready for pick-up.
