Deputy Chief Kristine Arneson
Deputy Chief Arneson has been with the Minneapolis Police Department since 1986, and has served in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Precincts, and in Central Investigation Division. She was recently the Inspector at the First Precinct. Her service also includes work in Homicide Investigations, as the Phillips neighborhood Sector Lieutenant, working with the American Indian Community, in the CODEFOR Unit, with two CRT teams, and as the Chief’s Administrative Assistant. Arneson has been detailed to captain of the Criminal Investigation Division, and also to deputy chief in Criminal Investigation Division.
Deputy Chief Arneson has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and PERF’s Senior Management Institute for Police. She received her graduate degree from St. Thomas in Police Leadership.
Deputy Chief Arneson has been awarded the Minnesota Women Police Officer of the Year, the International Association of Women Police Leadership and Community Service Award. Recently she received a life saving award in 2004 and the Police Community Relations Council’s "Top Cop Award" in 2006. Inspector Arneson also served on the Minnesota Association of Women Police Executive Board 10 years, and serves on the Hennepin County Domestic Fatality Review Team.
