Crime Alert Bulletins
MPD issues a Crime Alert when we notice a crime pattern. The crime pattern may be specific to geographic area, a time period, or specific method of crime. Sometimes, MPD issues Police Advisory flyers to the public for less serious, yet important crime prevention information. To enroll in the MPD Crime Alert system, navigate to MPD Email Update Sign Up.
Crime Alert and Police Advisory flyers aim to provide accurate information, increase the chance for arrests, prevent future crimes, and reduce fear. The key part of these notices is crime prevention information – simple steps you can take to reduce your chance of becoming a victim.
Block leaders may receive individualized crime alert bulletins regarding the most recent incidents on or near their blocks, regardless of patterns. These are called Action Alerts. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up as a block leader. Include your name, address, phone and email address in your note.
For other specialized Action Alerts send an email with your contact information to email@example.com. You will need to specify one or more of the following categories, and include your contact information plus the address of the property you own or manage (we cannot add you to the Action Alert lists for these categories unless you have an ownership or management interest in them):
- Bars/Licensed Liquor Establishments
- Residential Properties - Rental or Homeowner Associations
- Homeless Shelter Service Provider
- Parking Facilities or Lots
- Commercial Property Manager
- Security Officer or Manager
