Chief's Citizens Advisory Council - Vision Statement
The Chief’s Citizens Advisory Council is established under the direction of the Chief of Police. The council will act as a community resource for the Chief in the formation of strategies, development of community policing concepts, improvement of public awareness, and building of public trust. The committee provides a forum for discussions concerning community concerns with a broad spectrum of viewpoints represented on the committee.
The overall goal of each meeting is to identify concrete next steps in an action plan to move the MPD forward in the improvement of community relations and engagement. There are three components to the Chief’s Council: the Citizens Advisory Council; the extended Chief’s Council (comprised of the Chief’s Citizens Advisory Council and additional community members and city employees); and four sub-committees.
