Precinct Investigations
All precincts have Investigations Units. The mission of the precinct Investigations Units is to gather and evaluate evidence, take statements from victims and suspects, present cases to the Hennepin County Attorneys Office for prosecution and give expert testimony in those and other cases.
Investigators are trained and qualified to dust and lift fingerprints. The Investigations units maintain an active database listing current and past graffiti artists.
The following types of reported offenses are investigated where the loss incurred is a felony or gross misdemeanor.
- Burglary of Dwelling (home and garage burglary)
- Burglary of Business
- Hit and Run involving only Property Damage
- Theft of Auto
- Theft From Auto
- Property Damage To Auto
In addition, investigations include:
- Missing Persons
- Thefts (any theft of property)
- Precinct 1
- Precinct 2
- Precinct 3
- Precinct 4
- Precinct 5
