Join the Band!

Founded in 1917, the award-winning Minneapolis Police Band carries on a 100+ year tradition of police officers and citizens working together to represent the goodwill of the Minneapolis Police through music.

The Minneapolis Police Band consists of a concert band, a marching band and a swing band. Membership is open to active and retired police officers as well as civilians. We are always looking for new members and all instruments are welcome.

Band members must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a background check. The band's regular rehearsal nights are Thursdays from 7:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Av S, Minneapolis. Auditions are not required. Call 612-673-5717 or email [email protected] if you are interested or have questions. For additional information about the band, visit
