New Pedestrian Projects
The City of Minneapolis has several initiatives underway for pedestrians:
- Bicycle & Pedestrian Ambassador Program
- Coordinated Street Furniture Program
- Pedestrian Counts
- Pedestrian Master Plan
- Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program - This federal program is funding the Bicycle & Pedestrian Ambassador Program and the Pedestrian Master Plan, as well as several bicycle and multi-use path improvements. The second round of funding is tentatively scheduled for spring 2008. This will be an opportunity to pursue a greater amount of pedestrian-related projects.
