Mayor and City Council begin process to consider police chief nominee

July 27, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) The City has called a meeting Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 to consider Mayor Betsy Hodges’ nomination for Minneapolis Police chief. The special meeting of the Executive Committee will be the first step in the confirmation process for Assistant Chief Medaria “Rondo” Arradondo.

That committee meeting will take place at 10 a.m. in the City Council Chamber. If the nomination is approved by committee members, a public hearing will be held.

Mayor Hodges chairs the Executive Committee. The committee also includes Council President Barb Johnson (vice chair), Council Vice President Glidden, Council Member Cam Gordon and Council Member Kevin Reich.
