City of Minneapolis is Seeking Interest in Reuse of 1112 and 1200 Plymouth Avenue North
Wednesday, January 4, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) – The City of Minneapolis department of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED), in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Administration, issued a Request for Interest (RFI) for 1112 and 1200 Plymouth Avenue, the former State of Minnesota WorkForce Center property, in North Minneapolis. The City seeks a feasible project that benefits the public.
“Plymouth Avenue has been one of the most important streets in North Minneapolis. The Minnesota WorkForce Center site on Plymouth Avenue presents a great opportunity for new jobs and new development on this vital corridor,” said Ward 5 Council Member Blong Yang.
The parcel located at 1200 Plymouth Avenue includes a one-story office building most recently used as the Minnesota WorkForce Center and offices for the organization HIRED. The parcel located at 1112 Plymouth Avenue is currently a paved parking lot. The site is close to freeway access and high-frequency bus routes.
The preferred re-use of the property is for job-generating uses. A re-use will provide employment opportunities including from low impact production and processing, technology, creative and office businesses.
Responses are due to the City on or before 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
The RFI document and related materials are available on the City’s website here.
An opportunity to walk through the site is available to prospective proposers on Tuesday, January 24 2017 2:00 p.m. To RSVP, email [email protected].
