City of Minneapolis and partners to host community meeting on project to relocate North Minneapolis WorkForce Center

WHAT:             The City of Minneapolis, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Sherman Associates, and Community Advisory Committee are hosting a community meeting at the Capri Theatre on Tuesday, April 29th to discuss the North Minneapolis WorkForce Center project proposed for 800 West Broadway Avenue.  The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges providing opening remarks.  Minneapolis Council President Johnson and Council Member Blong Yang will also be in attendance.  The meeting will provide an update on the community engagement process, the development project at 800 West Broadway, and an overview on the proposed services provided in this multi-tenant job training, educational services, and retail center.

The meeting is co-hosted by the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Sherman Associates, Northside Residents Redevelopment Council, CAPI, CLUES, Somali Success School, Lao Assistance Center, Minneapolis Urban League, Nexus Community Partners, Center for Neighborhood Organizing, Alliance for Metropolitan Stability, and Hawthorne Neighborhood Council.
