Minneapolis Fire Department hosting ice safety and ice rescue event

WHAT:                  Would you know what to do if you fell through the ice?

The Minneapolis Fire Department will show and discuss the equipment they use for ice rescues, and also provide tips on how to prevent falling through the ice, and what you can do if it ever happens to you or someone you know.                         

WHEN:                  2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8

WHERE:                Lyndale Farmstead Park’s Ice Skating Rink, 3900 Bryant Ave

MORE:                  Minneapolis firefighters are typically first on the scene when there are   emergencies on Minneapolis waterways,
  including the Minneapolis  portion of the Mississippi River. To make sure they’re always prepared, they routinely
  train for specific ice and water rescue situations.
