Minneapolis first responders observe Sept. 11 anniversary

Sunday marks the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people – including hundreds of firefighters, police officers and other emergency responders who were trying to save lives that day. Police officers, firefighters and others will gather for a ceremony in downtown Minneapolis in observance of that tragic event.

The Minneapolis Police Department will honor all Sept. 11 victims and their families during an observance on the 4th Street side of City Hall. Officers will be joined by the Minneapolis Fire Department, the Saint Paul Police and Fire Departments, several Federal law enforcement agencies and representatives from emergency medical services.
