Minneapolis Development Review center closing at noon Aug. 3
The Minneapolis Development Review Customer Service Center will be closing at noon today, Aug. 3. The service center is closing due to a malfunction in the air conditioning system in the building, which is located at 250 S. 4th St. The utility billing office, which is also located in the building, will close at 11 a.m. Additional offices may also close in the building depending on conditions. The air condition system failed Monday morning and it is not expected to be restored until Wednesday at the earliest. Office temperatures are already in the mid-80s, and weather forecasts call for outdoor temperatures above 90 degrees for the next several days. The City has taken the step to close the building for the safety of its employees.
These offices are tentatively scheduled to open at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4. The City apologizes for the inconvenience to its valued business partners and customers. There will be no disruption in service to customers using the online permitting system.
The closure affects walk in service for these business lines:
- Simple (no review) building permits
- Community Planning and Economic Development Planning and Zoning
- Community Planning and Economic Development Preservation and Design
- Business Licensing
- Rental Licensing
- Environmental Health/Food Plan Review
- Problem Properties Unit
- Truth In Sale Housing
- Construction Code Compliance
- Construction Plan Review
- Housing/Rental Licensing
- Pet Licensing
- Public Works/Critical Parking
Notice of this closure will be posted in the Public Service Center, on the City of Minneapolis website and the Minneapolis Development Review website. Minneapolis 311 has also been notified of this closure.
We would like to extend our apologies to our valued partners for this unexpected inconvenience.
