City Council reappoints Police Chief, department heads
The Minneapolis City Council approved the reappointment of Police Chief Tim Dolan to a second three-year term on Friday, March 12.
Under Chief Dolan’s leadership, violent crime has declined 33 percent, falling three years in a row to its lowest level since 1982. In the same period, property crime has declined 24 percent, falling three years in a row to its lowest level since 1963.
The City Council also completed the reappointment process for Minneapolis City department directors including, Health Commissioner Gretchen Musicant, Public Works Director Steven Kotke, Regulatory Services Director Rocco Forte and Community Planning and Economic Development Director Mike Christenson. These directors were reappointed to two-year terms.
