Minneapolis City offices closed Friday, Jan. 1

Minneapolis City government offices, including Minneapolis 311 will be closed Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. City offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010.

There will be no garbage or recycling pick-up on Friday, Jan. 1 and the Transfer Station will also be closed. Pickups normally scheduled for Friday will be made on Saturday, Jan. 2. The Solid Waste and Recycling Downtown Customer Service office will also be closed on Friday

The City's parking meters will not be enforced Jan. 1, but all other parking restrictions in the city remain in effect and subject to enforcement, including Park Board meters along Minneapolis parkways, University of Minnesota parking meters and those of private organizations who operate their own meters. Always read the information posted on the meter to be certain.

The closure does not affect Minneapolis 911, police and fire emergency services.
